Project Overview
NOVUS at 56 Thomas Street is a striking residential development that blends high-end architectural finishes with functional, performance-driven lighting. Working alongside Franco from Sunstone, our team was engaged to deliver a coordinated lighting package that enhanced the project’s design intent — from garage feature lighting through to custom pendant modifications within the living and bathroom spaces.
Our goal was simple: to deliver architectural lighting that looked seamless, performed flawlessly, and installed effortlessly.

The Lighting Solution
Garage & Gym Lighting
We developed a custom 40x40mm ring profile that precisely mirrored the diameter of the vehicle turntable below, becoming a defining architectural feature within the space.
• Two rings were designed: one fully surface-mounted and one partially surface- mounted.
• The extrusion was pre-drilled for rapid installation, ensuring a perfect fit with no visible gap between the concrete and fixture.
• Detailed installation instructions and a step-by-step video were supplied to streamline on-site execution.
• Complementary lighting included the 1613 Black Profile with DFR24V dot-free strip lighting (3000K) in the garage and gym, creating a uniform, soft illumination across all areas.
Bathroom Pendant Modification
The client-supplied pendants were converted to 24V low-voltage operation using external drivers, allowing full compliance for wet-area installation while maintaining their aesthetic and quality of light.
Dining Pendant Modification
For the dining space, the feature pendant cluster was customised to suit a 5-metre drop. Suspension cables and power feeds were modified to suit the height of the architectural void. This provided a cost-effective solution, with shorter lead time and without needing to custom order new fittings.

Results and Impact
The lighting outcome at NOVUS reflects a balance of design precision and practical ingenuity.
The garage ring lights provide a strong architectural statement that mirrors the geometry of the space. The detailed installation guides ensured a clean, simple fit-out process with no complications on site.
The modified pendants achieved compliance, proportion, and performance — all completed within tight deadlines.
From concept to completion, the NOVUS project demonstrates how custom- engineered lighting can simplify installation, reduce cost, and elevate architectural impact.
