Background
Lightcore was approached by the owners of a five-storey private residence in Hamilton who were looking for a lighting designer to help them achieve a truly unique lighting design for their dream home. The owners were previously advised by another lighting designer that their vision was too difficult to achieve.
Challenge
The scope of the project was extensive and included a range of different applications such as concealed LED lighting, indirect feature bulkhead lighting, staircase lighting, theater lighting, pool lighting, external façade lighting, custom wall lighting, and more. Additionally, the client wanted to create a personalized light art installation within the property stairwell that was highly symbolic and of personal and cultural significance to the owners. The challenge was to understand the client’s vision, technically impressive light art installation, and visually effective to achieve the client’s concept.
Solution
Lightcore worked closely with the client to achieve the exact effect they were looking for in each space. The company involved the client as much as possible to ensure smooth and open communication and to ensure the client’s vision was achieved. The company provided unlimited design capabilities and technical know-how to overcome the challenges of the project. Lightcore worked in tandem with other contractors on the project, including builders, plasterers, and electricians to ensure all parties were working together and the brief was fulfilled. The company provided a range of dynamic color change lighting options in private spaces and common areas throughout the property to accommodate different moods and events. For the light art installation, Lightcore ensured the installation was technically impressive and visually effective to achieve the client’s concept.
The project was an all-encompassing undertaking for Lightcore, incorporating almost all applications of lighting design within the various areas of the property. The client was thrilled with the result and had their faith restored by Lightcore after the dispiriting experience with previous lighting designers who advised their dream was unachievable. In a very tangible way, Lightcore made their dreams come true by providing customized and unique lighting solutions for their dream home.
