Background
Terry, a successful businessman with a love for the quirky, had a vision to create a high-end cocktail bar for private events within his very own penthouse apartment. The bar’s design included 428 custom-made ice bricks, crystal glass angular fish, and crystal glass bench tops, all crafted with love by GlassXpressions. The goal was to use lighting to create the illusion that everything was encased in blocks of real ice, but this required a striking and changeable custom lighting solution to accommodate different types of events and create different types of moods.
Solution
When electrical contractors OCE Electrical needed to bring Terry’s vision to life, they contacted Lightcore’s founder, Dean Brosnan. Lightcore created a custom lighting plan, arranged all the custom LED lighting products, and even trained Terry on how to use the control system. We used custom-made high-spec RGB+6000K IP67 strip lighting, which gave Terry the ability to create the ultra-icy look he wanted while also enabling limitless color lighting options. In addition, we set it up so Terry could control the lighting of 16 different sections of the bar to create the ultimate icy paradise.
Implementation
Lightcore conducted numerous on-site visits and answered any questions OCE Electrical had throughout the installation process. We utilized custom-made high-spec LED strip lighting, integrated it into the ice bricks and other design elements, and created a multi-zone system with dynamic color options to give the added WOW factor. The end result was a stunning, custom lighting solution that perfectly showcases Terry’s one-of-a-kind venue.
In conclusion, the custom lighting solution provided by Lightcore for Terry’s futuristic igloo style cocktail bar was a success.
